MISTY MOUNTAIN WINS MICHAELANGELO WINE AWARD
The Overberg is an area rich in natural beauty, and it is not all about canola fields. The R43 route between Hermanus and Baardskeerdersbos is one of the most beautiful drives in this area. And on route, between Hermanus and Stanford, you will find a most wonderful hidden jewel, Misty Mountain Estate.
Offering everything from a lovely meal in their restaurant, wine, gin and vodka tastings in their cellar to accommodation and even a brand new deli due to open soon, this is one gate, you should not just drive by. There is also grappa and craft beer on offer.
As a member of the Stanford Wine route, you can be assured of finding very fine wine here. Packtown congratulates Robert and his team on the prestigious Double Gold Michaelangelo International Wine and Spirit prize recently awarded to their Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2022, and their Pink Sauvignon Blanc 2022. They also won a Gold for their Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2022. A fantastic accolade indeed.
The new drop-in deli right at the entrance of the will be opening in October. Their aim is always to provide an organic solution, with homemade & local produce. Enjoy great coffee sandwiches, Houwhoek pies, freshly baked breads & jams. The views are spectacular from the farm-stall deck, even if you buy nothing, this is a picturesque spot to just catch your breath.
