Heritage joins us.

Heritage joins us.

Packtown remains committed to delivering a trusted service to the diverse hospitality industry in Herrmanus and the Overberg region.

We are therefore delighted to welcome Heritage Restaurant to the Packtown family.

Just a short stumble from the centre of Hermanus, you will find Heritage Restaurant, situated in one of the first fisherman’s cottages to be built in this popular coastal town, around the 1800s.

With walls and stone retained from the original building and additional tones of natural wood, the ambience created is relaxing and welcoming, making for an enjoyable dining experience. Alternatively, there is also an outside area with one of the best and most uninterrupted views of Walker Bay.

Owner John took over the business in June 2021, a brave move in a difficult time, but his passion for food and drive to make it a success has seen him through the first year. He moved to Hermanus from Gauteng three years ago looking for a different life on the coast, and he credits “fate’" for landing Heritage Restaurant on his plate.

The understated elegance of the cottage is reflected in the menu of carefully selected favorites to cater for all tastes, prepared with the “Heritage Twist”. Their food philosophy is to use locally sourced fresh seasonal ingredients, prepared in a simple delicious manor. In addition to a regular menu, they also a offer Chef’s menu with ever changing inspired dishes. A carefully selected wine list consists of wine from estates in the neighboring Hemel en Aarde Valley.

We wish John and Heritage Restaurant all the best
